The Center for Education and Research on Macromolecules has been founded in 1993 by the Professor Philippe Teyssié, internationally recognized as a visionary researcher in his topic. “Chemistry gives us optimism lessons. It brought solutions to serious problems in the past and is going to continue in the future” was his key message. By judiciously combining fundamental and applied researches, significant achievements were reached, so that the European chemical industry still applies today his discoveries notably in macromolecular design. On his track, Prof. Robert Jérôme, his successor, pushed further these established bases bringing even novel research axes, such as electropolymerization, broadening the expertise of the Center and pursuing fruitfully its education and research missions.
